The digital transformation we follow in project management, in the era of digital development

In the era of digital transformation, project and factory management no longer relies solely on paper schedules or traditional meetings. Today, digital management tools have become an essential part of the success of any industrial or construction project, providing speed, accuracy, and transparency in every detail of the work.

In this blog, I share the most prominent tools and systems I've used in project and factory management, and how they have effectively contributed to improving performance and reducing costs.
Enterprise Resource Management System (ERP Systems):

🛠 Examples: SAP – Oracle – Odoo – Microsoft Dynamics

🔹 What does it do?
* Track the movement of raw materials and inventory.
* Manage purchases and suppliers.
* Organize accounts and costs.
* Monitor production, sales, and maintenance.

✅ My Experience:
In one of the factories I supervised, the ERP system helped us track materials from their entry into the warehouse until the final product was released, reducing waste by 12% within the first 6 months.

2. Project Management Tools:

🛠 Examples: Microsoft Project – Primavera P6 – Trello – Asana

🔹 Their Benefits in Projects:
* Planning tasks and assigning responsibilities.
* Monitoring schedules and actual progress.
* Managing risks and adjustments.
* Real-time reports accurately displaying the project status.

✅ In road and building projects:
I used Primavera P6 to divide the project into phases and link tasks together through timelines, facilitating decision-making in the event of any delays or changes.

Quality Management Systems (QMS):

🛠 Examples: ISO 9001 Platforms – ETQ Reliance – Greenlight Guru

🔹 Benefits:
* Monitoring production and material quality.
* Complaint management and continuous improvement.
* Tracking inspection and technical test reports.

4. SCADA and MES Systems (in advanced factories):

🛠 SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
🛠 MES (Manufacturing Execution System)

🔹 What do they do?
* Real-time monitoring of machines and lines.
* Performance analysis and accurate fault identification.
* Directly linking production to engineering control.

5. Digital Dashboards:

🛠 Examples: Power BI – Tableau – Google Data Studio

🔹 Benefits:
* Displaying data and statistics in an easy-to-understand visual format.
* Comparing daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
* Support decision-making based on live data from the field or factory.

🎯 Summary:

Digital management tools are no longer a luxury, but a necessity. As a project manager or factory operations manager, these tools give you greater control, more accurate visibility, and faster response to any emergency.
In my experience, these tools have been the primary reason for avoiding significant losses, achieving higher production quality, and increasing team efficiency.
